Give Yourself the Gift of Health

Give Yourself the Gift of Health

We’re entering into the holiday season – one of my favorite times of the year! I love fall with the gorgeous leaves, and the cool, crisp air. Thanksgiving with family and friends is always special and fun. And I take great delight in putting out my Christmas decorations and finding the perfect gift for everyone on my list.

But there’s someone else who should be on our lists who often doesn’t make it – and that’s us. I firmly believe that we need to take care of ourselves first so we can take care of others effectively.

This isn’t selfish. It’s similar to being on a plane and the flight attendant telling parents that if turbulence happens they need to put their own oxygen masks on before helping their children. Same principle.

So what can you give to yourself this season? Maybe the gift of –

  • Exercising regularly

  • Losing weight

  • Thinking before you speak

  • Getting your anger under control

Or how about the gift of clean lungs, a brighter smile, improved lung function and lower risk of heart disease? All of these can be accomplished by one thing – quitting smoking.

Choosing to become a non-smoker has short and long term benefits. You save money, you smell better, and you set a better example to your family. But quitting can be hard and many people either don’t attempt it at all or do try but become discouraged and give up.

Waco Hypnosis Center is offering Stop Smoking groups on Thursday, November 15th in conjunction with The Great American Smokeout. If you’re a smoker and have been thinking about quitting this would be a great time to stop. You’d go into the holidays a non-smoker!

If you’re interested, or know someone who is, call me at 254-722-6716 for a free, short assessment call. I’d love to talk to you and help you become healthier. And what better present to give to yourself than the gift of greatly improved health!
