I just saw a client for a smoking cessation session – and he’s in his 70’s! He’s smoked for years and is a great example of the fact that it’s never too late to make positive changes in our lives.
Most of us know that smoking is bad for us and it’s a good idea to quit. Our lungs benefit – we decrease our chances of cancer, but did you know about these other benefits?
Vision improves – smoking damages your eyes
Decreases risk of heart attacks – smoking is the leading cause of heart attacks and heart disease
Thins out your blood – decreases the risk of forming blood clots
Less colds and infections – your cilia start to regrow and function normally
Shrinks your stomach – reduces belly fat and lowers your risk of diabetes
Improves your sex life – quitting lowers your chance of erectile dysfunction
Stronger immune system – you’re less likely to get sick
Stronger muscles – increases the availability of oxygen in your blood – creating healthier muscles
These are just a few benefits of giving up the smoking habit – there are lots more – including a better tasting mouth, food having amazing flavor, and all your clothes smelling clean and fresh again!
