Drink Up!
You've probably heard that we should all drink 6-8 glasses of water a day - right? Would you like to guess how many of us actually do that? Only about 22% of adults in the US. When asked why they drink so little, most people said they were busy or just didn't think about it.
This is too bad because we get a LOT of benefits from drinking water. Let me share a few with you.
1 - Too little water can trigger headaches or migraines. Headaches are one of the most common symptom of dehydration, and a migraine is nothing to mess with.
2 - Even mild dehydration can decrease energy levels and brain function. Memory worsens and people report feelings of fatigue and anxiety.
3 - Physical performance decreases - sometimes dramatically. I live in Texas and smart people here never go outside in summer without a water bottle close by. If you sweat a lot when you exercise, it's even more important to stay hydrated regularly.
4 - Regular water intake keeps your skin looking and feeling good. If your skin is dehydrated, it's more prone to premature wrinkles.
5 - If you're trying to lose weight, drinking water regularly is critical. It can take the place of sweetened, caffeinated drinks and give you a feeling of fullness.
So no more excuses! Dig out that water bottle, fill it up with cool (I prefer icy) water, and empty it several times during the day. You'll feel, move, and perform better!
